Our first dog-walk meetup — a good, muddy start

A dozen neighbours, nearly as many dogs, and a lot of introductions. A quick recap of the first Ridge dog walk — and how to join the next one.

Our very first neighbourhood dog walk went about as well as a first anything can. Around a dozen of us turned up, with nearly as many dogs of every size and energy level, and spent a happy hour looping the trails and learning each other’s names — human and canine alike.

There were the small, good moments that make these things worthwhile: two neighbours who live one street apart meeting for the first time, a newcomer getting the unofficial tour, and at least one puppy deciding the muddiest puddle was the best part of the morning. Nobody minded.

We’d love to make this a regular thing, and for that we could use a hand — someone to help pick times, and a friendly face or two to welcome first-timers so no one has to walk up to a group of strangers alone. If that sounds like you, we’d be glad of the help.

Watch the events page for the next date, or join the list to get a nudge before it happens. All dogs, all paces, and all neighbours welcome — come as you are.
