Your details, handled with care

A starting draft. This is our plain-language privacy note, written to get us going. The volunteer group will review and confirm the wording — if anything here matters to you, please ask us.

We're neighbours, not marketers. We only ask for what we need to keep you in the loop, and we never sell your information.

What we collect

  • Newsletter & join list: your name and email address.
  • Optional extras: your street or address, and the activities you're interested in — only if you choose to tell us.
  • Contact & volunteer forms: your name, email, and whatever you write in your message.

Where it lives

Your details sit in two places: our mailing list (the tool we use to send the newsletter) and our group email inbox. Only the volunteers helping run the Ridge can see them.

How we use it

We use your information to send you Ridge news and event updates, to reply to you, and to organise the walks, rides and community activities you've shown interest in. That's it.

We never sell your data

We don't sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't share it with the property developer or any business. We'll only ever share details if the law requires it.

Unsubscribing (your CASL rights)

Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) gives you the right to stop hearing from us whenever you like. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, or you can simply email us and we'll take you off the list. You can also ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it.
